Default Lessening the clicking nessesary to Id your inventory(no shaynes allowed)

So lets get right into it...

Ever have a hand-ache after Identifying everything in your inventory? Ever think it has to do with repetitive minor trauma to your hand?
Well then this idea is for you. My proposal is to help reduce hand trauma for those who frequently identify items.

Some background:
This idea came to me while I was working on my wisdom title. After a night of iding golds my hand would hurt and be twitchy from the repetitive action. And I sat there thinking. How awesome would it be to only have to Id the bag (or belt pouch or what have you). I finally decided to share my idea here.

The idea itself:
Change identification kits, so that after double clicking the kit you can click on a bag on your inventory screen and have it take off a use for every identifiable item in the bag (to avoid people using it to save money) and it automatically identifies all the items that are identifiable within that bag.

To make the change known to new players who may not check the update notes or frequent fan sites change the text from

Quote:
Double-click to identify another item in your inventory.
to

Quote:
Double-click to identify another item or bag of items in your inventory.
Pros:
-Decreases time spent identifying items and increases time enjoying the game.
-Reduces repetitiveness for those who identify many items.
-Would alter the economy in that more people would identify their white items increasing their value and brining more money into the economy.(opinionated)

Cons:
-Would take developer time to implement.
-Would alter the economy in that more people would identify their white items increasing their value and brining more money into the economy.(opinionated)
-Accidentally identifying items that one did not intend to identify.
-Feel free to add cons and if I feel they are worth adding I will add them here.

Discuss.

That could bring up a bunch of issues with runes and mods and stuff...and accidentally salvaging something which I've never heard of accidentally iding stuff.

yea i guess your right. one thing on your's tho, what would happen to the item if it was already id'd? would it just like not do anything or would it take an id usuage even tho nothing happened?

It would be counted as an un-id-able item therefore would not take up an Id...providing anet didn't mess up and make it buggy.

I like this idea.

I went back to Ultima Online lately (I know, right?), and you can set up hotkeys for "last item" and "last target" there. Then I come back to Guild Wars and find myself totally spoiled, annoyed by having to click the ID kit, then click the item, then back to the ID kit. Makes me yearn for a "last item" hotkey, which they'll probably never implement (methinks it would be exploitable by farmers/bots), but this idea would be just as good.

It really wouldn't make a difference to a bot...They have to slow down their actions usually to make them more realistic.

My mouse has a programmable button that I turned into a double clicker so it's just a click, but I like your idea.

This issue has been addressed several times but sadly it also has been overlooked the same number of times.

The last time I remember we suggested an ID system a la Diablo II where you press shift + click and identify the whole content of your bags.

This is one of the issues that I never understood why was so overlooked, since it could be beneficial from a health point of view.

I'm all in for this but my hopes are near unexistent now.

After seeing GW2 manifesto video, their going to add gameplay content rather than this because Guild Wars beyond takes man hours. GW2 > GW1, nuff said.

This would be so convenient though...

I would prefer content or skill balances to this. I have nothing against the idea though, if you put aside the time, effort, and money it would take to make I'd definitely want this.

Was just thinking of this the other day. An "Identify All" option would be really handy. I guess it would be best if you could do it by bag, since you might want to move golds out of one your are IDing, to sell later.

...when I id whites before selling I often have the impression I would just make more money by selling them unids and spending that time by getting more and having fun.
